Macaronight 2020 – Participação especial no “AHH! Ciência nos Açores”

Through the invitation of the Regional Fund for Science and Technology (FRCT) and the Regional Directorate of Science and Technology (DRCT) and as a result of the partnership with the Santana Astronomical Observatory (OASA), the director of Santa Maria’s RAEGE Station, João Salmim, traveled to São Miguel Island to record an episode of a miniseries called “AHH! Ciência nos Açores” (AHH! Science in the Azores) as part of the celebration of the Macaronight II event and the European Researchers' Night. During his participation, João Salmim, described the experience in Santa Maria, and the work he carried out at the RAEGE Station and shared his opinion on the future of the space sector in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. 

This miniseries was dedicated to scientific areas in the Azores Islands and the first episode launched on national television, RTP Açores, on November 27, 2020, the date for the beginning of the celebrations of the European Researchers' Night.

During seven episodes, each Science Center could present the best that is done in the Azores in the area of science with activities from volcanology (by the Volcanological and Geothermal Observatory of the Azores - OVGA), environment (Observatory of the Environment of the Azores - OAA), space (Santana Azores Astronomical Observatory – OASA) with the special participation of the Associação RAEGE Açores (RAEGE Azores Association), ocean (Azores Sea Observatory – OMA), microorganisms (Azores Microbial Observatory – OMIC) and endemic species (Expolab- Science Center Live).
