On October 28 and 29, 2021, Santa Maria’s RAEGE Station presented its contribution to the second EU-VGOS (European VLBI Global Observing System) workshop, with the presence of Mariana Moreira, Diogo Avelar, Abel García, Valente Cuambe, and João Salmim. The last one made a special contribution to the presentation on the status of Santa Maria’s RAEGE Station, such as the work developed and future plans, namely with regard to the integration in the VGOS (VLBI Global Observing System) stations network. This network is the one that brings together all the stations that test and have implemented state of art technology at the Geodesic VLBI level.
In this event, several European members representing VLBI stations, correlation centers, and data analysis were gathered. The topics covered in this workshop ranged from the most technical aspects of VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry), such as its equipment and updates, to the analysis of its data and results. From a very practical perspective, the purpose of the workshop was to promote conversation between experts in order to advance process optimization and problem-solving.
